Artist Bio

Samantha Gill is a ceramic artist who grew up in Belvidere, IL and is currently based in Milwaukee, WI.  Gill graduated from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a BFA with a focus in ceramics. Her work focuses on expanding the vessel by integrating elements of the figure and the natural world to elevate the form of functional objects.  Gill’s work aims to expand functional objects by blending in themes of animals, people, emotions, shape and plants.  Gill has shown her work in the Union Art Gallery, the Arts Center Gallery, and Kenilworth Studios Gallery at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  She is currently working on a series entitled Moving Through Loss which is a three-part body of work that explores the main emotional states one navigates when losing a loved one.
